Our 1820s Log Cabin
When this cabin was built, fledgling America was just getting used to its hard-won freedom. We know that the back portion was built prior to 1820 because the nails and timbers are different from the two-storey front section. The previous owner of Cavender Creek found the cabin in Tennessee, had it shipped to this property in pieces, and put it back together with the idea it would make a great tasting room. But when he got it put back together, he realized it was just too small to be a tasting room, so he made it into a guest cabin instead.
Our Winemaker’s Cottage
Shiplap, white paint, and old furniture add a touch of charm to this sweet cottage that belie its humble beginnings. Historically the winemaker for Cavender Creek lived here. But a few of us have spent several months living here while waiting to move into our permanent homes, so we feel a little sentimental about it.
Our Petit House
What this little house lacks in size, it makes up for in charm. You wouldn’t believe the amenities packed into such a small space. Located in a secluded spot, it’s the perfect place for some those seeking a quiet getaway from the noisy world.
Our Shepherd’s Cabin
This true log cabin is almost 40 year old. A couple of years ago, we gave it some love: new kitchen, updated bathrooms, cozy furniture. A man named Steve Shepherd moved in and made it into a warm and wonderful home. We think you’ll feel the good vibes, too. But be forewarned: this cabin feels so good that you’ll want to stay longer.
